Greetings Archers, Our Archery Club here on Salt Spring Island invites one and all to join us for the fun Vultures Shadow Tournament on the weekend of June7 & 8th. We have a beautiful and challenging roving archery course very close to the Long Harbor ferry terminal, which is an easy connection from Tsawwassen and Vancouver Island on BC Ferries. This fun archery tournament is open to all ages and skill levels. There will be categories and shooting stakes for Compound and Traditional archery, with youth sub categories. There is a course of approximately field 14 targets, tbd. The range is on a south facing hillside encircled by a lovely mixed forest. The amount of wildflowers and wildlife that you can see while on the course is inspirational and adds to this great archery experience. The weekend pass for the tournament is $20 per shooter. You can use the practice range and shoot the course 2 times max. Archery tag is included in that price, but the dinner and popcorn on Saturday night with the Robin Hood movie is $10 extra . The games are intended as an “everyone’s a winner” style event but there are some little prizes to be won! There will be food and drinks available as well as many other activities, games and demonstrations. There are a few vendors and artisans selling archery equipment and craftwork. The list is growing and still to be confirmed. we have a few sots here and there are a number of other great campsites on the island as well as AirBnBs but they do fill up fast as we move into the summer season.
